I didn't want to update my blog until I had a positive step forward in the job search, and as such this morning I had a phone interview with a lovely woman named Laura so here goes two weeks of pictures.
There are something like 30 pictures so I won't be typing much.
To make the 1,250 mile journey a bit more palpable I decided to knit a complicated project while on the road to occupy my time.
I chose the Cornflower Cowl by Karen Scott.
Cast on.
Work-in-progress at a Georgia gas station.
I am wearing my TARDIS shirt and listening to Spanish reggaeton.
Flying metal bird outside Atlanta.
We ran into standstill on the highway right outside of Atlanta but the weather was absolutely beautiful so I didn't give a damn.
Houston, we have topography.
It was around the mountains in TN where we saw a large semitruck on fire. As in, FLAMES LEAPING OFF THE ENGINE.
Nashville.
Somewhere along here we saw a graveyard of neglected backhoes.
Blurry picture is blurry.
Horse country.
Stopped in Kentucky for dinner.
After stopping for the night we watched Big Bang Theory on the crummy hotel TV before going to sleep. This city did not have 3G which rendered my iPad the equivalent of a 900$ chopping board.
This bridge was over the border of Kentucky and Indiana so I couldn't get a picture of the Welcome to Indiana sign as it didn't exist.
Morning sun.
It was around here where we saw a PIRATE BOAT in a pond. Wish I could have gotten a picture.
Batavia, the City of Windmills. Also, where both the bottom quark and the top quark were first detected at the particle accelerator lol i love physics
Beautiful view out my bedroom window. There are windchimes in the pine tree there and when the window is open they are lovely to listen to.
Pulled Pork at The Office, a little pub in St. Charles (I think it was St. Charles anyway) Home of Ben, the hot waiter-slash-sculptor who works nights at the pizza place.
What blog post would be complete without gratuitous pictures of the dog, Lu.
Little less than halfway done at the moment.
Everybody say AWWWW!
AWWWW
Vincent (as represented by his glasses), Andrew and I at Portillo's restaurant. The decor and ambiance in this place is crazy good. As soon as you step through the doors it's the 1930s. I wanted to take pictures but the flash was necessary and I didn't want to seem like a crazy person taking pictures.
Lights on a fake tree in the corner of my room (I've always loved ambient lighting)
That's it for now!

Grilled Cheese Sammich 101
(Michelle coming by the next day to pick up Vancomycin)
(Joyce) Is it safe to just not lock it up and leave it on the counter in the office?
(Sarah L) No, because I'm going to look it up and find some way to turn it into crack.
Dear Tami (and by extension, Jeremy),
THIS is a grilled cheese sammich.
Class dismissed.
Also, Jeremy,
I saw this and thought of you and Vin. Please show this to my bro (and Trevor) because I don't think Vin reads this blog.

BS from FL
Dear Office Cleaners,
Thank you for leaving me room to get in my car.
Love,
Gina.
PS: Backing out was fun.
Dear Government,
Really?
Love,
Gina
(Sarah) I wonder what happens if you answer 'yes'.
(Leslie) The FBI shows up at your door.
Dear Kit Kat People,
I ate Laurie's Kit Kat bar. I'm not even sorry.
Love,
Gina
Dear Sarah's Computer,
We're tired of your fuckery.
Forever yours,
Gina

And again
I just realized I completely forgot to post quotes.
(Tiggo) Okay, order is:
(Tiggo) Ari > Nan > Tiggo
(Tiggo) writing it down so I don't forget
(Nan) It's alphabetical order.
(Tiggo) o lord Nan's adding smarts to this shit now
(Yadiel) seriously
(Yadiel) I might not be able to play ffxi tomorrow
(Yadiel) i still have to pay my fee and they might not accept my credit card
(Tiggo) he says it like we're gonna be sad...
(Mea) Stealing is wrong !
(Mea) I prefer "aquiring through questionable means"
(My uncle recounting a drunken story in a Mexican jail)
"I've got a broken lightbulb. He's got a submachine gun. I mean, how many tequilas do you have to have to think you have some sort of an edge?

Wow! I have a blog?
It's been a month since I've even visited my own blog. Mostly owing to the fact that I have restarted FFXI. Liam had emailed me a month or so ago and said DryRoot would be coming back but here it is Mid January and they're still gone. I hear they're on Star Wars MMO.
Traitors.
Anyway moving on.
Tomorrow I have to be at work by 6:15am so I decided not to take a nap. Therefore, I am eating my body weight in bang bang chicken and I'm updating my blog to keep me awake in the meantime or I will pass out.
This is my night: Bang Bang Chicken, Dr Pepper, FFXI, Blogging.
Did holidays at my Uncle's and Aunt's place with my Dad.
Webber Street has the most beautiful sunsets. I drive it every Saturday around 6pm to get a Starbucks.
I got the chance to knit Sarah's husband a hat that has something to do with Minecraft. It was a good learning opportunity as it involved a new technique called intarsia. I've done intarsia before but never successfully. You probably can't see it well in the picture but it involves twisting one yarn over another when you change colors and also navigating a LOT of yarn.
And the finished project.
I am still working on that seed stitch hat. I like it so much I'm afraid to continue 'cause I'm at the part where the decreases begin in order to shape the top of the hat. It's going to be tough cause I don't have a pattern and am historically quite bad at judging increases/decreases.
Gratuitous picture of myself. Love the light.
Sherlock Season 2 has come and gone as each season only has three episodes. It was fantastic as usual but the last episode was really stellar. I want more. I need more.
Poor Sherlock got his ass kicked by Watson in S1 Episode 1.
Like I said the finale was phenomenal and I can't believe I have to wait another year for season 3. That Moriarty is a smarty pants and I love love Lestrade. This is my not-so-subtle way of trying to get Tami to watch it!
And now I leave you with some of the beauty of FFXI. With my new laptop I just bought I can play with the graphics on MAX.
The Duchy of Jeuno... the city in the clouds.
My home nation, the Republic of Bastok, all decorated to hell and back for the holidays.
10:06... almost bedtime.

Whoops forgot a title
Sarah: (about someone in the waiting room) That is the pastiest live person I've ever seen, and not even in a Pendergast-that's-kinda-hot kinda way.
Me: (recognizing a patient) Oh, I remember you. Last time you were here, you couldn't spell Bhamindapati.
Patient: Who the hell can?!
It's Gina Needs a Nap's six month anniversary. I swear to god I started this blog back in December of 2010 but apparently it was actually June of 2011.
Look at this cutie pie. My voice shoots up 12 octaves when I see him. One of the gals who works at the office upstairs bought this cuddly fluffy thing on craigslist. Monica described him as the size of a hamster and I thought she was totally BSing, but he really is the size of a little kitten :3
His name is George. Heather calls him Baby-G.
Yesterday was Ruth's last day a Thine Place of Employment hitherto known as "CFE". Ruth is (was) one of the CRNAs here. I barely knew her until about two months ago when she saw me knitting in the break room one day (I had been working on Vin's scarf), and as it turns out she is quite the knitter.
After work Tuesday we had our annual Holiday party at Bonefish Grill.
I got my usual caesar salad with grilled chicken and their tasty, tasty bread. Laurie next to me got the Bang Bang Chicken, which was DELICIOUS and will be my new favorite there.
L to R:
Indira, Joyce H, Mary, Laurie, Me, Maryann, Sarah, Leslie, Deb, Dale.
Not pictured Diane who was taking the picture.
Laurie got all fancified but I wore my crap from work.
Sherlock will be back for Season Two on January 1! I am looking forward to this even more than Doctor Who Christmas episode. It is probably my favorite thing on TV right now and it's a shame Americans don't know about it.
In other unrelated news, I have started playing FFXI again after Liam emailed me to let me know DryRoot will be starting back up in January.
FFXI is an epic lifesuck and I promise not to get addicted. Again. (Was I ever addicted in the first place? I found it surprisingly easy to quit last year.)
I had a bit of a reputation as kind of a badass RDM (Red Mage) and I'm glad to see I haven't lost my touch.
